Announcing nDVR for MPEG-DASH in Wowza Streaming Engine

To ensure the highest-quality playback across mobile, web and streaming devices, more video professionals are adopting HTTP-based adaptive bitrate streaming technologies. In recent history, Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) has been more widely supported across devices than development for advanced MPEG-DASH functionality has been throughout the industry—even with adoption by Netflix, Facebook, YouTube and others.Wowza announced the availability and support of nDVR for MPEG-DASH workflows as part of our Wowza Streaming Engine™ software, version 4.7.6. The new feature allows adaptive-bitrate streaming applications to implement pause, rewind, play and “jump-to-live” functionality for live video.
