Free-to-Play FPS ‘Blacklight: Retribution’ Shutting Down in March

Free-to-play online shooter “Blacklight: Retribution” comes to an end next month, developer Hardsuit Labs announced in a Steam post on Friday.The game’s PC servers will officially shut down on Mar. 11, the team said. Until then, all items in the PC store are unlocked and free for all players. Account migration ended on Friday, and Hardsuit Labs said it will no longer update the game or provide technical support.The PlayStation 4 version of “Blacklight: Retribution” will continue to operate after Mar. 11, since there’s no need to host game servers there, but it won’t receive any support from the developer.“Blacklight: Retribution” first launched in July 2012 to mixed reviews. It was notable at the time for its futuristic setting and gadgets, like a visor that allows players see through walls and a mech-like “hardsuit” equipped with a one-shot, one-kill railgun and high velocity minigun.
