Video game giant Sega almost became a pioneer in the home virtual reality (VR) market.With all of the excitement around VR and augmented reality (AR) happening today it's easy to forget the same thing almost happened nearly 30 years ago as well. Anyone who followed video games and consumer electronics in the 1990s might remember the level of buzz that was surrounding VR at the time, particularly for its potential in video gaming.At that time Sega was a household name when it came to video games and its Sega Genesis was the top selling console. So it made sense that the company would look to break new ground in the market.
