IOA ROLLS OUT THE RED CARPET FOR ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA CLOUD ECOSYSTEM
The media and entertainment (M&E) industry is being disrupted not only by the massive amounts of media content being consumed, but also by the “technology evolution” of new digital media formats and iterations of TV-top and handheld devices. These changes impact both CAPEX and OPEX spending as M&E companies try to adapt their workflow processes and IT infrastructures to support them. Global media spending rose 6.4% in 2015, down from the 7.4% increase in 2014. However, it was higher than gains recorded over the years 2010–2013. During that time frame, spending increased at a 6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Spending is projected to expand at a 5.2% CAGR as digital markets—and broadband in particular—begin to mature.3 Digital storage capacity requirements will also explode across M&E, resulting in total media and entertainment storage revenue soaring from $5.6 billion to $11.1 billion between 2016 and 2022.4 DOWNLOAD
