Black Dragon Studios Announce Debut VR Title The Scraptown Shoot-Out

Welsh indie developer Black Dragon Studios has announced its first foray into the world of consumer virtual reality (VR) entertainment with debut shooter, The Scraptown Shoot-Out, due for release this Spring. With an American Wild West theme similar to videogames like Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR, High Noon VR, and Cogs and Cowboys, The Scraptown Shoot-Out is a frantic first-person shooter (FPS) set in a world overrun by robots.“You find yourself outnumbered and outgunned against an invasion of corrupted enforcement machines. You must fight your way through the Scraptown to rid it of this evil robot horde!” states the studio.Developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, the title will feature three distinct environments for players to work through,  canyon, streets and mines, each with multiple routes to ensure varied gameplay for each session. There will be three enemy types to deal with, and because they’re robots their parts are individually destructible. There’s also a multi-stage boss to deal with right at the end. Just like any good VR shooter, The Scraptown Shoot-Out features dual-wielding weaponry, and for those sharpshooters out there, an online scoreboard to keep track of your progress.VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Black Dragon Studios’ The Scraptown Shoot-Out in the run-up to launch, reporting back with any further updates.
