Vimeo today is rolling out a new feature called Showcase that will allow video content creators to build customized channels, sites or embedded playlists. All Vimeo customers will have access to custom portfolio/site creation and embedded playlist tools. Vimeo said that Showcase replaces existing albums (while keeping all the features and updating the design) and will soon include most of portfolio’s features.Customers who subscribe to Pro or higher packages at Vimeo will be able to build connected TV apps. Showcase at launch supports apps for both Roku and Amazon Fire devices. Vimeo said it’s working on additional features for Showcase, including more embedded layouts, livestreaming support, Showcase-specific stats and presets to make it easier to create custom showcases.“Our aim is to provide the tools you need to create a beautiful viewing experience and share those stories anywhere. Showcase is a significant step towards that goal,” wrote Caroline Mwaura, senior product manager at Vimeo, in a blog post.
