MUSIC INDUSTRY EXPECTED TO GENERATE $10 BILLION IN 2019

The U.S. music industry is expected to generate $10 billion this year.Taken from the same report that found that vinyl sales are to take over CD sales for the first time since 1986, it's been revealed that first-half recording revenues of the year grew 18% to $5.4 billion. The findings were shared by the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA), who also found that, in total, stream revenues have also increased 26% to $4.3 billion during the same period.Spotify, Google, Amazon and Pandora have recently launched an appeal to overturn an increase in songwriter royalties.This autumn, DJ Mag will host two panels at this year's BBC Introducing Live, taking place at Tobacco Dock in East London.
