Overtime has Raised $80 Million in New Funding from a Notable Investor Group that Includes Bezos Expeditions, Drake, and 25 NBA players.

Overtime, the leading brand for the next generation of sports enthusiasts, unveiled today an $80 million Series C investment round led by return investor Sapphire Sport, Black Capital, and a diverse syndicate of distinguished leaders in technology, sports, finance, and music.

Bezos Expeditions (Jeff Bezos' personal investment company), Drake, Micromanagement Ventures (the family of the late David Stern), Alexis Ohanian, Jeff Kearl (via Pelion Capital), Morgan Stanley Counterpoint Global, Blackstone Strategic Partners, and more than 25 current and former NBA players, including Trae Young, Devin Booker, Klay Thompson, and Pau Gasol, are among the notable investors in this round.

PROOF, Gaingels, Concrete Rose Capital, Dentsu Ventures, Intersect Capital, LightShed Ventures, WNBA All-Star, and commentator Chiney Ogwumike, Rogue Insight Capital, Bakari Sellers, 10X Capital, True Capital Management, and Ares Management's Nate Walton are among the other prominent investors. Overtime has already raised more than $140 million in total funding.

This new funding will be used to expand Overtime, including the improvement of appropriate capabilities across NFTs, trading cards, and the company's unique approach to content and culture to build sports betting personalized for the next generation of fans. Furthermore, Overtime will continue to invest in its sports app, where fans will get statistics, scores, hot insights, entertainment, culture, kicks, and more, with the intention of becoming North America's number one sports app.

Overtime will now invest heavily in the growth of OTE (Overtime Elite), the company's game-changing new basketball league. This includes guaranteeing pay for all OTE participants, recruiting a committed workforce of more than 80 league employees, and making other important investments for the launch of a new league. The inaugural season of OTE starts in September.

More than 25 current and former NBA players participated in this round, including Deandre Ayton, Lonzo Ball, Will Barton, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, De'Aaron Fox, Pau Gasol, Aaron Gordon, Danny Green, Zach LaVine, Kyle Lowry, Kenyon Martin, JaVale McGee, Khris Middleton, Kelly Olynyk, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Domas Sabonis, Garrett Temple, Isaiah Thomas.

Overtime has been synonymous with sports for a younger wave of athletes and viewers since its inception in 2016, with programming watched more than 14 billion times per year and an audience of over 50 million social media followers. The company has more than 125 employees.
