Sony Electronics Launches the New Interchangeable-Lens Vlog Camera ZV-E10 for Vloggers and Video Creators

Sony Electronics Inc. announced the new ZV-E10, the first Alpha series interchangeable lens vlog camera. The new camera, which was designed from the bottom up for vlogging and vloggers, combines Sony's advanced imaging technology with comprehensive usability and a custom-made feature set optimized for video creators.

The ZV-E10 is powered by a 24.2-megapixel (approx. effective) APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and the BIONZ X image processing engine, producing high-quality images with high sensitivity and detailed texture depiction, and stunning natural bokeh. In addition, the ZV-E10 also includes the acclaimed vlogging-specific features found in the popular ZV-1 digital camera, such as "Background Defocus"i, which can smoothly switch between a blurred (bokeh) and sharp background, and the "Product Showcase Setting"ii mode, which allows the camera to automatically shift focus from the subject's face to an object being highlighted.

The ZV-E10 is a video-first design in a lightweight form factor (about. 12 oz. / 343giii) with the famous side-opening Vari-angle LCD Screen that allows creators to connect external microphones on top of the camera. This simplifies the setup while enabling users to view the screen in selfie mode and from high and low angles.

In addition to the screen, the ZV-E10 includes many additional simple vlogging capabilities, such as a new mode button on the top of the camera that enables producers to quickly switch between Still/Movie/Slow and Quick modes with a single touch.

The new camera also has advanced video features, including 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) video recording and Slow Motion with excellent image quality (FHD 120p)iv. Electronic image stabilization with Active Modev is also available, providing steady video recording even when walking or filming hand-held. Furthermore, the advanced AF (autofocus) technology of the ZV-E10 provides fast, accurate AF with outstanding tracking performance and high-quality audio for clear sound recording.

Pricing and Availability

The new ZV-E10 will be available in black and white late August for about USD 700.00 and CAD 900.00. It will be available at a variety of Sony-approved dealers throughout North America.
