Troika Media & CAA Brand Consulting Collaborate on Advertising Campaign for Wilson Sporting Goods as the New NBA Official Game Ball for 2021-22 season

Troika Media Group today announced that it will launch a new advertising campaign on behalf of Wilson Sporting Goods Co., as the new National Basketball Association (“NBA”) official game ball for the 2021-22 season, in collaboration with CAA Brand Consulting.

TMG was brought on to the Wilson project by Creative Artists Agency (“CAA”), a leading agency at the nexus of talent, content, brands, technology, sports, and live events, after working together on numerous client projects. CAA Brand Consulting, headed by Creative Directors Alex Klein and Desmond Marzette, developed the Bonded by Ball 360-degree Wilson Basketball campaign idea and collaborated with Troika to bring it to life via design, animation, edit, and post-production.

CAA and Wilson selected TMG due to its strong worldwide presence, proven sport brand-building skills, and narrative expertise.

TMG is developing a sixty-second hero commercial with Wilson that is all about connecting people through basketball. CAA and TMG created a unique concept using Wilson Brand Ambassadors, 2020 NBA All-Star Trae Young, 2016 first-round NBA Draft Jamal Murray, and three-time WNBA All-Star Liz Cambage, as a major element of the narrative.

The sixty-second hero ad and supporting content vignettes will be available on digital media and wherever basketball is played worldwide beginning July 1.

In advance of the NBA’s 75th anniversary season, Wilson Sporting Goods Co. and the NBA introduced the league’s new official game ball in June. Wilson’s NBA official game ball debuted on the court during the Microsoft Surface NBA Draft Combine 2021, which took place from Monday, June 21 through Sunday, June 27. Wilson’s return as the NBA’s official basketball supplier, a position held since 1946 and maintained for 36 seasons, is part of the multi-year collaboration. Wilson will also be the WNBA, G-League, 2K League, and Basketball Africa League’s official ball.
