In recent years, a host of video streaming services have emerged in Asia, including local players like Thailandbased Doonee, India-based Hotstar, Malaysia-based iflix and Singapore-based HOOQ, as well as global ones like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Although the VOD market in Asia is nascent compared to Europe or Latin America, it is poised for strong growth. VOD services are expected to have over 400 million paying subscribers across Asia by 2022.
