AR, VR Headset Shipments Projected To Grow 54% This Year

Global shipments of augmented reality and virtual reality headsets are forecast to grow 54% to reach 9 million units this year, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).Strong growth is projected to 2023, with shipments reaching 69 million by that time, growing 68% annually until then. VR headsets are projected to grow 47% annually and reach 38 million devices shipped in 2023. During that same period, AR headsets are projected to grow 141% a year, reaching 32 million units in 2023.
