Octane X for M1 and M2 iPads (iPad Pro and M1 iPad Air) brings the world's first unbiased, spectrally correct GPU render engine to mobile rendering workflows that are on par with production desktop rendering.
Octane X is an iPad app with all the features of the Octane X macOS standalone desktop application. In addition, it has a brand-new interface that makes it easy to navigate and edit scenes while supporting the iPad's multi-touch design and Apple Pencil.
Users who need complete compatibility with the Octane X standalone desktop application on macOS can get an advanced UX by adding support for keyboards, trackpads, external monitors, Bluetooth mice, and a stage manager.
Octane X speeds up the creative workflows of today with features like ACES, OCIO, deep pixel EXR rendering, a robust node-based material, and shader system, a scene graph editor, and the industry's most advanced production-ready AI denoiser.
Using OTOY's ORBX format, scenes made in the Octane X app can be sent to more than 20 of the best 3D tool sets, such as Cinema4D, Maya, Houdini, Blender, Unity3D, and Unreal Engine. These scenes can be used in artist workflows ranging from visual effects and motion graphics to gaming and design.
Using Octane X for the iPad, artists can move mobile rendering jobs to the cloud for next-generation creative workflows. In addition, artists can now access nearly infinite decentralized GPUs on the Render Network.
OTOY believes Octane X for iPad Pro democratizes GPU graphics. Now artists can access Octane's full feature set from mobile devices, with a new UX designed for multi-touch on iPad and support for Apple Pencil. The company added that Octane X for the iPad can be a window into the future of ubiquitous immersive computing and a game changer for creative expression.
It should be noted that Octane X for iPad only works with iPad models running iPadOS 16 and later that have the M1 or M2 chipset (iPad Pro and M1 iPad Air).
