HOW THE ADA IMPACTS ONLINE VIDEO ACCESSIBILITY

Prior to the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, buildings were not required to have handicap ramps or allow entry to service animals. Today, while these accommodations are commonplace, a new struggle is emerging over accessibility of online video. When the ADA was enacted in 1990, online video did not exist and thus was not covered by the law. Recently, however, disability advocates have successfully leveraged the ADA to win a number of landmark cases. These decisions have broadened the law and resulted in profound implications for companies and organizations that were previously unaffected.

2019 U.S. Music Consumption Year End Report
